This shotgun was manufactured in 1881 and has brown Damascus pattern barrels with attractive twist patterns, a concave matte solid rib marked with the Hartford address and fitted with a single bead front sight. The casehardened action features "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co." on each side, border line engraving with the engraving extending to the forearm hardware, break lever, and trigger guard. It is mounted with a checkered forearm with ebony insert and a round knob pistol grip stock with a silver initial oval and smooth steel buttplate. Chokes: improved modified and modified. Chambers: 2 3/4 inch with extractor. Length of pull: 13 3/4 inches.

Fine. The barrel retains rich Damascus patterns with a layer of protective glossy varnish. The frame retains 40% of the case colors with brown and gray patina overall. The buttplate has a brown patina and oxidation. The wood is fine with a large chip on the right side of the forend and various minor scrapes. The multi-point checkering remains crisp. Mechanically excellent.
