The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 4 3/4 inch barrel in .38-40 caliber, blue finish and hard rubber grips when shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. of St. Louis on November 15, 1897. The revolver has non-factory period retailer applied floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background along with accents of line and dot motifs. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard and back strap.

Very good as period embellished with most of the period replated nickel plating (over light pitting) showing minimal handling marks. The grips are also very fine with minimal handling evidence and highly attractive fiery colors. Mechanically functions fine, but is slightly out of time.
