Description:

Possibly by/for Wattel Clark of London in the early 19th century. The Damascus steel barrel has "CLARK LONDON" faintly marked on top at the breech and has no visible proofs. The gauge above is estimated. The bore flares out to just under an inch at the muzzle. The lock is marked "CLARK" at center. The stock wrist is has broad diamond checkering, and the brass furniture has some light engraving. "47" is stamped just ahead of the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very good with dark brown patina on the lock and barrel, mild oxidation on the latter, heavier oxidation/pitting on the lock, aged patina on the brass, minor scratches and dings on the wood and metal, a few hairline cracks in the stock which has smooth re-oiled finish. Mechanically fine.
