Casehardened receiver with carved percussion style fences, treble-grip action with matching serial numbers, "crown/LR" maker's mark, Jones pattern rotary under lever, and rebounding back action locks. The action, locks, and hammers feature near full coverage fine, swirling scroll engraving knurled hammer spurs and lever, and dual triggers. Multi-point checkered, walnut pistol grip stock with matching forearm, matching engraved fittings, rotating lever forearm catch, engraved grip cap, raised shadow-line cheekpiece, white metal initial oval inscribed with a "star/crown/PJ" monogram, and solid rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements and weight are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 7/16 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches; weight 10 lbs. 9 oz.

Fine with 95% period refinished blue on the barrels, some patches of pin point surface spotting and small scratches, traces of light pitting under the blue, mild edge wear, and re-soldered under rib. The action and locks have an overall dove gray patina with well defined engraving, some areas of darker spotting, and areas displaying a thin coat of protective varnish. The refinished wood is also fine with attractive color and grain, sharp freshened checkering, scattered small dings, and added recoil pad. Mechanically excellent.
