This pair of fine, very high quality engraved Spanish made shotguns were made for John Rigby & Company, London, England. Both are 12 gauge with chopper- lump barrels with single silver bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib marked "PEDRO ARRIZABALAGA, EIBAR" on the right barrel and "MADE FOR J. RIGBY & CO., LONDON" on the left barrel. There is a gold inlaid "1" (A) and "2" (B) on the breech end of the rib. Each has 2 3/4" chambers, choked modified/improved modified with ejectors. With a single brass bead sight on a smooth concave rib. The barrels, trigger guard and break lever are blue and the action is satin coin finished. The assisted opening action, trigger guard and break lever are nicely engraved with a Acanthus scroll pattern with "P ARRIZABALAGA" in a banner on each side plate. The locks are hand detachable, the cocking indicators have gold inlaid indicators and the front triggers are articulated. Automatic tang mounted safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" and the top of the break levers have a gold inlaid "1" (A) and "2" (B). The shotguns are mounted with fancy checkered select walnut forearms with engraved hardware and gold inlaid "1" (A) and "2" (B) on the forend hardware and finely checkered straight grip stocks with tear drop flats, checkered bare butts and a silver initial oval inscribed JDM". The length of pull on both is 14 5/8". The pair are complete in a hard green canvas takedown case with leather corner and edge protectors, leather handle and two leather straps. The lining is purple flannel with a John Rigby label affixed to the inside of the lid, a two-piece wood and brass cleaning rod, cleaning rod attachments (in a leather pouch), a John Rigby marked nickel oiler and a wooden container with four extra firing pins.

Near new. The shotgun retains virtually all of the original finish with a couple of minor scuffs on the barrels. The wood is excellent plus with a few light scuffs on the stock and overall light handling marks and sharp checkering. The case is excellent.
