Manufactured on a very limited, made to order basis by Connecticut Shotgun Mfg. and built on their smallest (smaller even than the .410 bore frame) Model 21 action. This highly embellished double rifle features blue steel chopper lump barrels with elevated beaded blade front and fixed express style notch rear sights on a raised quarter rib marked "CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG./NEW BRITAIN CT. USA .22 L.R." between the rear sight and the breech. The barrels feature 2 7/8 inch wedges of highly detailed leafy scroll engraving with full yellow gold, rose gold, and silver inlays with detailed small animals such as raccoons, butterflies, small birds and small rodents. The receiver is vibrantly casehardened with jewelled water table and breech face, single trigger with selector, and automatic sliding tang safety. The engraving and metal work on the receiver is exceptionally elaborate with images of rabbits, hummingbirds, squirrels, porcupine, groundhog, and small birds, all surrounded by intricate leafy scroll designs. The inlays are a highly attractive mix of contrasting yellow and rose gold, and silver. The trigger guard, tangs, and blue steel grip cap are engraved and inlaid to match. The lower tang is simply signed "CAPECE" to the right of the trigger. The Belgian Capece family of engravers has produced several masters. Multi-point checkered, highly figured walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with ebony tip inset, matching engraved and gold inlaid fittings, raised shadow-line cheekpiece, and matching engraved and inlaid heel and toe caps on a checkered bare butt. With leather bound Connecticut Shotgun Mfg. takedown case with oak interior trim, and canvas and leather case cover. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/4 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent plus, near new with 99% original blue finish remaining on the barrels with just a few very small surface nicks. The receiver case colors are quite vibrant and fiery underneath the masterfully executed, highly detailed, sharp, precious metal inlaid engraving. The wood is also excellent with crisp checkering, some small scattered dings and bruises, and highly attractive, dark figure. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent with some exterior scuffs and dings.
