Description:

The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, stocks as "Not Listed, and January 21, 1943 date of shipment to Springfield Armory and one of 1,600 pistols shipped. The letter does list the finish as "Blue" but this is likely an error as the pistol is well within the range where parkerization was standard for military contracts. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block Colt address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, divided by the Rampant Colt, "P" on top, and the matching serial number beneath the firing pin stop. "G.H.D." inspected frame, with "P/VP" and "41" on the trigger guard. Checkered milled trigger, wide hammer, slide catch and thumb safety, arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, reinforced Colt grips, unmarked pinned base magazine and a blued barrel with "G" and "COLT 45 AUTO" markings.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% original dark parkerized finish remaining, areas of edge wear, some light spotting and pin point surface pitting, and handling marks overall. The grips are also fine with mostly sharp checkering and small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
