Very fine 1938 dated WWII German S/42 Luger pistol as manufactured by the Mauser factory. The chamber is dated "1938" with the "S/42" code marked toggle. It has the "Eagle/63" proofs on the barrel and extension with the droop wing eagle firing proofs on the barrel, barrel extension, and breechblock. Standard safe and loaded "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" markings on the safety area and extractor respectively. It has the transition all salt blued metal finish with checkered walnut grips. Matching external numbers on the various parts with one original matching magazine. The magazine is an unmarked, stamped all blued magazine body with a matching aluminum base, stamped, "5420/c/eagle/63". Also included with the pistol is a brown 1938 dated leather holster and "eagle/63" proofed take down tool. The holster is lightly stamped "AUWATER & BUBECK/1938/STUTTGART" with an "Eagle/WaA101" Waffenamt proof.

Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish with minor/light edge and high spot wear with blue thinning on the front and rear grip strap mixed with a hint of brown patina. The grips are in very fine condition with excellent color on both sides with distinct checkering mixed with some minor handling marks with some light wear along the rear edges of the grips. The holster is in fine condition with a slightly dulled brown color overall with nice tight white stitching with some minor scuffing on the face of the holster and on the top of the flap. The markings are clear and visible but a little faint. A really nice 1938 dated P.08 Luger rig.
