Receiver manufactured in 1954 and subsequently embellished by Master Gunsmith and engraver Kurt Jaeger of Mainz, Germany. Tapered medium weight barrel without sights inscribed "KURT JAEGER MAINZ" on top with a 7 1/2 inch wedge of finely detailed scroll engraving with gold wire inlaid scroll borders forward of the breech. The receiver is fully engraved with matching scroll patterns and gold inlaid borders with double claw scope bases and Hensoldt Diasta-D 4x32 scope. The floorplate is engraved with a detailed polar bear scene with the bear rendered in semi-relief gold inlay, matching scroll engraving, and gold inlaid scroll borders. The trigger guard is engraved to match with the name "Knapp" inlaid in gold. Walnut pistol grip stock with foliate and scroll carved forend and grip, matching engraved and gold inlaid grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and vented Pachmayr recoil pad. With leather bound luggage case with Kurt Jaeger test target.

Very fine as elaborately embellished and finished by Master Gunsmith Kurt Jaeger with 95% plus blue finish, small bright line on the right side of the barrel, small handling marks, and a slight plum cast to the receiver. The wood is also very fine with attractive striping on the butt, sharp carving, and some small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The closure strap on the case has separated, otherwise the case is very good with some corner and edge wear, and small scuffs and dings.
