This attractive matched pair features beaded blade front and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights, barrels marked "Matched Set of One Thousand" in gold enamel on the right side, standard markings, and matching serial number "540" with individual prefixes "MR" and "MC" respectively. The receivers are an antique gold finish with detailed game scene engraving: featuring larger game on the rifle with a scene of elk on the left, and a bear scene on the right. The carbine length gun features small game with dogs chasing rabbits on the left, and a pair of squirrels on the right. The scenes are bordered with an oak leaf and acorn motif. Fancy checkered walnut straight grip stocks and forearms with blue steel buttplates.

Excellent with 99% original blue finish, a few scattered minor handling marks, and traces of darker patina on the receiver. The wood is also excellent with sharp checkering, and some small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
