The gray coin finished, scalloped action features side clips, bushed firing pins, third fastener, and features full coverage, sharply detailed scroll and game scene engraving with a pheasant scene on the right, and woodcock on the left. The left side of the receiver is signed "GR" for Merkel factory Master Engraver Gunter Richter. With single trigger with selector, and automatic sliding tang safety. Checkered walnut forearm with engraved fittings, and straight grip stock with serrated buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent with 98% original blue finish, scattered light surface scratches, and a hint of muzzle wear. The receiver engraving is distinct and crisp. The wood is also excellent with attractive color and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
