Blue steel dovetail lump barrels with chambers proved and measured at 2 3/4 inches, single extractor, London nitro re-proofs dated 1991 and "SLEEVED" markings on the flats, skeet/improved cylinder chokes, and a single brass bead sight on a concave rib inscribed "WILLIAM POWELL & SON 35 CARRS LANE, BIRMINGHAM". Casehardened Anson & Deeley box lock receiver with Birmingham and London proofs, doll's head rib extension, Powell patent lifter action, dual triggers, automatic sliding tang safety, and fine scroll engraving with William Powell & Son maker's marks on the sides. The lifter is marked "2" indicating this as the second in a two gun set. Checkered walnut straight grip stock and forearm with Anson latch, engraved fittings, blank initial oval, and leather wrapped recoil pad. With leather bound takedown case marked "DSC" on the lid exterior, reproduction William Powell & Son interior label, and cleaning rod heads. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .722/.722; minimum wall thickness .040/.038; choke constriction .004/.012; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Fine. The barrels have 95% plus professionally refinished blue remaining with re-cut rib marking and some scattered small surface scratches. The receiver has an overall silver gray patina with the engraving on the floorplate, trigger guard, and lifter a bit washed out. The restored wood is also fine with a professional repair on the right side edge of the forearm, well defined checkering, some filler at the forearm tip, and attractive grain and some small dings on the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
