Description:

According to available records (photocopy of DOD paperwork included), this General Officer M9 Pistol was shipped on May 13th, 1991 to Brigadier General Michael W. Davidson, Adjutant General at "Boone Center" (aka Boone National Guard Center) of Frankfort, Kentucky. Research confirms Michael W. Davidson, later Major General, as the Adjutant General for the Kentucky Army National Guard in Frankfort at the period in question. Having entered the Army in 1969, Davidson's active duty career included leadership postings in Special Forces, Airborne and Military Intelligence, and his time with the Guard includes service as an Assistant Professor of Military Science, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs to USSOCOM, and Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for National Guard Matters. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (3 stars), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross (with bronze star), Master Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge and Special Forces Tab, and his academic credentials include a MS, Juris Doctorate, and a Doctorate of Philosophy. In contrast to prior U.S. Army GO pistols, which were either particular models (like the 1903 and 1908 Hammerless Pistols) or unique variants (like the Rock Island Arsenal customized 45 ACP), the General Officer M9 was essentially a M9 with a different serial number prefix. Fixed sights, with standard markings and checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 99% of the original black anodized finish, showing some light wear on the takedown lever and lanyard ring, and minor handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
