This is a pre-Model 12 Airweight revolver, produced on government contract for the U.S. Air Force (who designated it the Model 13 Air Crewmen). It was sent to the Transportation Office at Wilkins Air Force Depot in Shelby, Ohio on May 20th, 1954. It was (and still is) equipped with a 2 inch barrel, checkered walnut grips, and an alloy cylinder. Matching number on cylinder. Top of the frame is marked "REVOLVER, LIGHTWEIGHT, M13" and back strap "PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE" with white fill. Grips are checkered walnut with diamond patterns around the screw and silver S&W medallions. With a black leather holster marked "USAF" on the front, and a letter from S&W historian Roy Jinks, with information on the Aircrewman model in general, and this Aircrewman specifically, including shipping info and configuration.

Excellent plus 98% combination blue/anodized finish overall, with light cylinder drag line and handling marks. Grips are excellent, with some light chipping and scratching. The holster is very good, with some scuffing and cracking. Mechanically excellent.
