According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a 600-unit shipment to the Commanding Officer of the Springfield Armory on October 25, 1917. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights, the two-line/two-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, the Army nomenclature on the reverse, and a "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked frame with "GHS" (Smith) inspection mark on the left side. Fitted with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, smooth mainspring housing, checkered grips, unmarked two-tone pinned base magazine, and a "P/H" marked barrel.

Excellent, with 90% plus of the crisp original blue finish, showing the start of a brown patina on the grip straps, a takedown line and minor handling marks. The grips are also excellent, with some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
