Manufactured in 1905 and chambered in the desirable .22 Short caliber. Barrel marked with the two-line address/patent marking and caliber designation, and fitted with dovetailed beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model designation/patent marking, serial number on the lower tang, assembly number "20958 CF" on the left of the lower tang, and "20958" on the buttstock under the casehardened crescent buttplate. Mounted with a straight grain twelve-groove slide handle and checkered pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap. The included factory letter confirms the caliber and "plain, checkered stock, pistol grip", as well as receipt at the warehouse on 5 June 1905 and shipment the next day in order number 12093. According to Winchester slide action expert and author Ned Schwing, only 527 Model 1890 rifles between serial number 1 and 329,999 were ordered with a semi-deluxe stock, making this configuration very scarce.

Very fine, retains 75% original blue finish and 40% of the case colors on the buttplate with the balance thinned to a plum-brown/grey patina, which is concentrated mainly on the bottom and right side of the receiver. The wood is also very fine with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout, well-defined checkering, and retains most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
