This is a fine representative example of a Second Variation "ac/41" Code P.38 pistol. Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, standard markings and stacked "ac/41" code on left side of the slide, "eagle" firing proof and double "eagle/359" acceptance marks on the right, matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, and front of the barrel lug, matching partial "042/d" number on the locking block, "eagle/359" stamps on the right and left sides of the frame, trigger, trigger bar, safety, extractor, and hammer, early high polish blue finish, and serrated grips with lanyard loop on the left side and "eagle/359" marked magazine. With Heer style black leather holster marked with an "eagle", "P.38", and "0/0750/0111" on the back, and extra "eagle/WaA706/jvd" marked magazine. Also included is a letter from Warren H. Buxton, author of "The P.38 Pistol: Volumes 1-3" relating general information about variations of the P.38.

Very fine with 85% plus original early high polish blue finish, mixed gray patina on the grip strap, some mild edge wear, handling marks overall, and some small surface scratches. The grips are also very good with some small dings. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very fine with some scuffs, supple leather, tight stitching, and overall solid construction.
