Manufactured in 1906 and subsequently elaborately embellished. The muzzle and breech ends of the barrel are decorated with floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background, and a gold and silver inlaid band at each end. The receiver, hammer, lever, forend cap and buttplate are also decorated with floral scroll and punch dot engraving with gold inlaid wire accents. The left side of the receiver also has two gold inlaid bears in the mountain scene and the right side has a gold inlaid moose in a wooded scene. The underside has a gold inlaid deer head with a matte background and a heart shaped gold inlaid wire border. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address and 1884 patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38 W.C.F." at the breech. The lower left barrel flat near the muzzle is marked with a "crown/BNP" proof mark. The top of the receiver at the breech is marked with the Winchester oval proof. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1892/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK". Brass bead blade front sight and elevation adjustable sporting rear sight which is floral scroll engraved with gold inlaid wire accents. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver and there is a small "Crown/BNP" proof is stamped on the bottom just ahead of the lever. Mounted with a very nicely figured, extra fancy high gloss walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The forearm and stock wrist feature fine checkering and carved oak leaf and acorn designs

Very fine as elaborately upgraded/embellished with 99% blue and vibrant case colors remaining. There are a few very minor dings and a very small area of pin prink type pitting under the finish on the magazine tube. All of the gold inlay remains. All of the fire blue remains on the loading gate and upper tang screw. The wood is very good with a few scattered minor dings and handling marks. The checkering and carving remains sharp. All of the markings and engraving remain sharp. The action is excellent. This rifle would be the centerpiece of any Winchester Model 1892 collection.
