Description:

The Baby Dragoon was the first pocket revolver manufactured at Colt's factory in Hartford, and only an estimated 15,000 were manufactured from 1847 to 1850. It was replaced by the similarly designed Model 1849 Pocket which went on to become Colt's most successful percussion revolver. This revolver was manufactured in 1848 and has "{ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY}" on the top of the barrel, small "COLTS/PATENT" stamp on the left side of the frame, "COLTS/PATENT/6024" on the cylinder, and matching serial numbers on the various components including partial number on the wedge.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, retains 20% original blue finish and 25% original silver plating with the balance a smooth grey patina and some scattered very light surface pitting. The cylinder scene is more than 60% intact which is way above average for a Baby Dragoon. The grip is good with moderate wear and minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically fine.
