This unusual revolver is marked "S. COLT, PATENT" on the top of the barrel at the breech and has elaborate relief floral engraving throughout and no maker's marks or proofmarks. "601" is marked on the bottom of the barrel lug and loading lever. The grip is fluted, and the butt has a lanyard ring.

Very fine. 70% plus of the original blue finish and silver plating remains. There is some mild pitting on the hammer and around the breech. The engraving patterns remain crisp. The grip is fine and has some small chips and marks. The action functions very stiffly and needs some work. This is an interesting piece for a Colt arms collector.
