Description:

Approximately 1,000 of these cavalry carbines were manufactured in 1862-1865. As Flayderman confirms on page 179 of "Flayderman's Guide", "often observed having tinned finish" like this example which has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 75% tinned finish, strong niter blue on the hammer, smooth brown patina on the balance, and minor marks and scratches. The stock is also fine and has smooth finish and minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
