Description:

The Model 1816 muskets were manufactured from 1816 to 1840 and remained in use into the Civil War making them particularly significant U.S. muskets. This Type I musket is dated "1819" on the lock and barrel tang and has "W/a/73" on top at the breech in addition to the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with mix of gray and dark brown patina, some minor oxidation and pitting, some dents on the muzzle, generally distinct markings, and dark oiled finish on the fine stock which has some dents and minor scrapes. Mechanically excellent.
