Description:

Measuring 13 1/2 inches overall, with an 8 3/4 inch clip point blade, fitted with a 6 1/2 inch long false edge, "I. READ/LAMBERT STREET/SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso, and patriotic etching on the left side of the blade, including an American eagle and the motto "WE ASK FOR NOTHING/BUT WHAT IS/RIGHT/AND SUBMIT TO NOTHING THAT IS /WRONG". The tang runs the full length and width of the hilt, with a set of alternating German silver and mother of pearl grip panels, featuring oak and scroll motifs at the guard and pommel, and an American eagle in the center. With a brown leather sheath.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade shows a mixed bright gray patina, with faint acid etching, mild pitting, a few light edge nicks, and mild sharpening and polishing. The grips are very good, with some mild dents. Cuts have been made during the period of usage in the body of the scabbard to form a belt loop, with some cracks and scuffs.
