Description:

Marked on the left side of the barrel with the maker's name "JOSH. CHILD". Birmingham proofs on the barrel flats with small scroll engraving down the sides. The overall length of the pistol is some 2 1/4 inches. This type of pistol is pictured and described on pages 53 of "Firearms Curiosa" by Lewis Winant, a photocopy of the page is included. Also includes a hardwood case, miniature powder flask, bullet mold, balls, and scaled down caps.

Rating Definition:

Fair, showing an irregular, flaked aged grey patina, some scattered spotting, well worn checkering, and the slightly shrunken wood. The accessories are very good with light wear. Mechanically excellent.
