Description:

This revolver was manufactured by J. Blanch & Son, who were recorded in operation at 29 Gracechurch St. London from 1848 to 1914. "TRANTER'S/PATENT/3223" is marked on the left of the frame, which is also lightly border engraved with floret engraving around the screw, which is repeated on the butt, and British proofs on the chambers of the cylinder. The barrel is marked "J. BLANCH & SON. GRACECHURCH. ST. LONDON" on the top flat and has a lightly engraved scalloped band at the muzzle. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips. Includes a hardwood case with blank brass escutcheon on the exterior of the lid and Pima County Bank of Tombstone, Arizona printed label dated 8 September 1881 on the interior, a Pima County Bank note for $700 also dated 1881, brass ejector rod, and some unidentified rimfire cartridges (appear similar to .38 Rimfire).

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a grey or brown patina and some scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are very fine with a few light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with added bank paper label, a few minor cracks, minor handling/storage marks scattered throughout, and some mild staining.
