PA U.S.A." and "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" on the right and left barrels respectively, 2 1/2 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, standard markings on the flats, and cylinder/improved modified chokes. The breech end of the barrels have wedges of fine leafy scroll engraving. Casehardened action with Fox single selective trigger and automatic sliding tang safety. The action is fully engraved with flowing leafy scroll patterns surrounding small game scenes of ducks on the right, quail on the left, and a standing fox on the underside. The tangs and trigger guard are engraved to match. Checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with fancy scroll borders, engraved fittings, checkered flats, and solid rubber recoil pad with the remains of a leather face. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .606/.606; minimum wall thickness .030/.028; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 3/8 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 65% original blue finish on the barrels, patchy surface oxidation throughout, two small areas of visibly touched up pitting, and small scratches and minor dings. The action has an overall dark patina with well defined engraving, and small traces of original case colors visible in the protected areas. The trigger guard and tangs have similarly aged to a dark patina. The wood is also fine with small dings throughout, well defined, mostly crisp checkering, and hardened and cracked recoil pad. Mechanically excellent. A very hard to find Philadelphia Fox shotgun!
