Manufactured circa 1935-1936 on contract for the government of Persia, only about 1,000 Persian Lugers were outfitted with an Artillery-pattern barrel. This particular Luger was imported to the United States via Borderview of Lynden, Washington, and has their mark on the underside of the barrel and a transliterated plain English serial number next to the magazine well. Overall features follow the pattern of the late-WWI Artillery, with fixed blade front and tangent rear sights, the Persian Lion on the chamber, "crown/crown/U" and "crown" proofs, and straw finished small parts. The original Farsi serial number is present on the receiver and frame, with the matching final 2 digits on multiple parts, save the barrel (unnumbered), grips (unnumbered) and replacement magazine (mixed). Fitted with a pair of checkered grips and a nickel finished alloy base magazine. A hardwood shoulder stock is included, with the serial number restamped (to match) on the left side of the wrist, a wood-handled cleaning rod, takedown tool and a brown leather holster.

Fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, light dings and dents concentrated on the edges, and scattered spotting. 50% of the original straw colors remain. The grips are very good, with dents and dark spots. The holster has been modified for belt use, the leather shows a number of scuffs and cuts, areas of repaired stitching, and general wear and staining, and the wood shows some sanding and dings. Mechanically excellent.
