Part of the early German re-armament program, the "K" date Lugers were manufactured in 1934 in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Fixed sights, with the "K" date on the chamber, "S/42" (script S) code on the front toggle link, "S" proofs (mixed script and block) on multiple parts, "S][91" on the extension, "B][90" stamps on the extension and barrel and "droop wing eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension and breechblock. Some small parts are straw finished, with niter blue pins and screws, and a bright finished alloy base magazine marked "S/3579/O][37". Numbers are matching overall, including the grips.

Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing a gray patina and some minor pitting concentrated along the high edges, the start of a brown patina on the grip straps, and some dark pitting visible on the edge and high spot bump on the side plate. 80% straw color remains in the protected areas, with the rest turning a smooth gray with light spotting. The grips are also very fine, with some staining and dents. Mechanically excellent.
