Manufactured in limited quantities, the red magazine base extension is chiefly associated with the beginning of PPK production, being phased out in favor of extensions colored to match the factory installed grips. The pistol itself has the standard two line Walther markings on the left side of the slide next to the banner, with "crown/N" commercial proofs on right side of slide and chamber (not present on the muzzle), and the proper hand-scribed matching partial serial number on the inside of the slide. A 90 degree safety is installed, and there is no provision for a chamber indicator; while technically a factory option, the chamber indicator was so popular that it became the de-facto standard for the PPK until the tail end of World War II. The magazine is blued, with the Walther banner stamp on the left side and the aforementioned red extension. Includes an Albrecht Kind holster.

Excellent, with 97% plus original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear and minor handling marks. 85% bright original nitre blue remains on the safety lever. The grip is excellent, with some light wear; unlike many vintage Walther grips, the edges on this one are nearly ramrod straight, not showing the typical warping or flexing seen on most examples. The holster is very good, with a few minor scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
