The included (3 page) factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, and all of the other major details of this exceptionally eye catching, masterwork Single Action Revolver. The revolver features a full carbonia blue finish applied by Doug Turnbull Restorations, and a black powder frame. The revolver is highly embellished starting with dual, flush gold inlaid bands at the muzzle, relief gold inlaid banner on the left side of the barrel inscribed "CCA CONCORD, NC - 2009", fine gold inlaid leafy scroll engraving on top of the barrel, flush gold inlaid one-line address on top of the barrel and model/caliber marking on the left side, matching gold bands at the breech end, bottom of the barrel signed "M.W. Dubber Master Engr" in fine script, more matching gold inlaid leafy scroll with contrasting inlaid engraving on the frame and cylinder, gold inlaid relief of the battleship North Carolina with silver inlaid banner inscribed "NCBB55" on the left recoil shield, light engraving on the sides of the brilliantly gold plated trigger, back strap engraved and gold inlaid with "THE TARHEEL STATE", and smooth one-piece grip with highly detailed scrimshaw panels depicting the Cape Hatteras lighthouse on the right and the Wright Brothers famous Kitty Hawk flight on the left. According to the factory letter the grips were fitted by Dan Chesiak, and scrimshawed by Katherine Plumer. The revolver includes and equally impressive glass top museum style display case with two sliding drawers, and silver inscription plaque which reads "Colt Collectors Association/CCA 2009/COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY /.45 CALIBER/Concord, NC/MICHAEL W. DUBBER/ENGRAVER". The top drawer is fitted for the revolver and includes 1880s period style cherry wood handled turnscrews, bore rod, and engraved blue steel oil bottle. A second smaller display case is also included. Also included with the revolver are two copies of the 2009 CCA Auction catalog, 8 copies of the Fall 2009 edition of "The Rampant Colt" (This SAA is featured on the cover and on pages 9-11), letter from engraver Michael Dubber, "Wind and Sand: The Story of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk" by Lynanne Wescott and Paula Degen, "The Road to Kitty Hawk" by Valerie Moolman, Wright Brothers medallion, 1978 Wright Brothers postcard and stamp, CD ROM from the 2009 CCA convention specifically about the engraving of this revolver, the original shipping box, and Colt blue box.
