Description:

Operating out of his home workshop in California, John Martz is best known for his alterations and upgrades of Luger and P-38 pistols. Working with all manner of military, police and commercial Lugers as a base, the Baby Luger features a short barrel, in conjunction with a frame that has been cut and reshaped to give the signature Luger grip profile in a more compact form. This particular Baby draws components from a Mauser "42" code, "41" date military Luger, and integrates the Martz Safe Toggle Release system. Blade front and notch rear sights, with military chamber proofs, "MSTR" on the left frame rail, and "JVM" and "87" under the side plate. The receiver is numbered "3544", the frame, the frame "9025G", and mixed numbers on the other components. Fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and a bright finished alloy base magazine, unmarked but properly shaped for the pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with some light spotting on the bright surface, some minor handling marks, and traces of dried storage grease in some areas. The grips are very good, with a few light dings. The disconnector hangs up a bit (needs slight mechanical work), otherwise the pistol is mechanically fine.
