Description:

Manufactured in 1895 with standard markings including the caliber designation, "38-55", at the breech and "MARLIN SAFETY" on top of the receiver. The front sight dovetail is empty and it is fitted with an elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a compass inset in the left and a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored, retains 99% plus blue finish and 98% case colors with a couple small patches of pitting/oxidation on the heel and toe of the buttplate. The refinished wood is also very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and a hairline crack in the face of the compass. Mechanically excellent.
