Description:

Approximately 6,000 manufactured by Henry Aston & Co. circa 1845-1852. This example is dated 1852 on the barrel tang and lock which is marked "US/H.ASTON&CO" in front of the hammer. Barrel marked "US/SM/P" at the breech and two cartouches on the left flat. It has standard features and a removable collection mark on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Fine showing mostly a bright grey patina and a mix of bright and antique patina on the brass with some patches of light pitting. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
