Description:

This is a very high condition example of the 25,000 rifles built using the second variation of the Erskine S. Allin trapdoor system in 1866 using Civil War Model 1863 Type II rifled-muskets. It has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with mostly bright barrel and furniture, 60% plus original case colors on the breechblock and lock, and minor age and storage type wear overall, including some faint spotting and minor marks on the lightly sanded, re-oiled wood. Mechanically excellent. This rifle is essentially as issued.
