Manufactured in 1880. Browned crolle pattern Damascus steel barrels, single brass bead sight on the smooth concave rib marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", chambers measured at 3 inches with single extractor, and modified/modified chokes. Standard side lock action with light scroll border engraving, "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO." marked locks, and sculpted hammers with knurled spurs. Checkered splinter forearm with ebony tip insert, pistol grip stock, lightly engraved fittings, blank initial oval, and checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .740/.742; minimum wall thickness .039/.039; drop at comb 1 7/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Fine. The barrels have 70% original browned finish with strong, visible Damascus pattern, some small dings, scattered light spotting, and clear rib marking. The action and locks have 50% original case colors (more vibrant in the protected areas), dove gray patina on the balance with some darker spotting, and about 50% original blue finish on the trigger guard. The wood is also fine with sharp checkering, scattered small dings, and a few larger bruises. Mechanically excellent.
