The only marking located on the carbine is "CB" inside a circle of dots and is identified as from Nuremberg c. 1640 internally. The stock profile is similar to others reported from the same period. The lock also has some light floral engraving. The other fittings are plain iron. The barrel has a small blade front sight and notch rear sight.

Very good as assembled during the Victorian era. The metal has gray patina on the metal. The wood is good and has dark finish over the mostly smooth wood, spliced forend from the ramrod entry point forward, loose band at the butt, and some wax fill in some of the insect holes. Mechanically fine.
