Built like a classic 18th century horse pistol, but made in the percussion era of the early 19th century. The long barrel has a brass blade front sight, raised ribs, silver band and light engraving on the breech plug, and scroll engraving and notch rear sight on the upper tang. The lock has an external half-cock sear, scroll engraving, a swan in foliage on the tail, and bestial design on the hammer. The furniture is iron and includes mask and scroll designs. The stock has raised carving including scroll patterns and incised lines.

Rating Definition:

Very good with dark gray and brown patina, mild oxidation and pitting, mostly crisp carving, and general moderate wear. The stock is fair and has general light scratches and dings, some heavier scrapes on the left at the upper tang, otherwise crisp carving, and a few repairs, including a spliced forend tip and pins at the tail of the lock. Mechanically fine.
