Dating to circa 1860. Browned intricately designed Damascus steel smooth barrels with solid smooth rib signed "CHARLES DALY LAMINATED STEEL." with single front steel bead, two ramrod pipes, and silver tipped hardwood rod. Casehardened engraved breech with engraved discs and sculpted sides transitioning into the barrels. Casehardened highly sculpted hammers and fences and deeply engraved game scene locks with a panel of pigeons on the right lock and a hare on the left and signed "CHARLES DALY" on each lock. Relief engraved trigger guard with panel scene of a hunter carrying his gun and a fox over his shoulder, and smooth double triggers with engraved, sculpted trigger plate and ramrod insert. Checkered straight grip walnut stock with silver oval initial escutcheon, and checkered, engraved butt plate numbered "207". With period case with brass corners, handle, and blank initial escutcheon, lined in green baize with aged reproduction maker's labels. Includes various tools and wads, as well as a Hawksley, Sheffield marked silver and leather powder flask.

Very good with 80% of the rebrowned finish remaining with some scattered smooth pitting and clear markings. The breech, locks, and hammers retain approximately 60% of the original casehardened finish. The trigger guard, trigger plate, and ramrod insert retain traces of their original casehardened finish mostly in the protected areas. The buttplate also has visible muted casehardened finish visible throughout. The refreshed wood is very good with numerous scratches and dings, sharp checkering. The case is very fine with several handling scratches on the exterior, a dark patina to the brass, and some tears to the interior. Mechanically excellent.
