Dating to circa 1880. Blued Damascus steel rifled barrels with solid smooth rib signed 'THOMAS HORSLEY & SON. YORK." with inserted single blade front sight and unmarked four leaf notched rear sight. Border engraved casehardened Jones patent rotary underlever action with non-rebounding back action locks signed "THOMAS HORSLEY & SONS", engraved hammers, each with safety catch, and trigger guard with extended finger rest. Well figured walnut straight grip stock with engraved forend furniture, sling eyelets, silver oval escutcheon, and border engraved steel buttplate.

Barrels retaining 75% older re-blued finish, faint Damascus twist pattern visible in rubbed areas, loss to finish through handling in period. Signature very slightly softened. Light pitting in bores. Action and locks retaining slight traces of original casehardened finish in sheltered areas. Well figured stock, reoiled and almost certainly refinished, with some marks within the checkered areas.
