Sold by the famous outfitters Army & Navy of London in circa 1890, this fine duck gun has a browned Damascus bolstered round barrel with short sighting flat and signed “ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON”. Border engraved casehardened action with sculpted faceted fence and rebounding back action lock signed “ARMY & NAVY C.S.L.”. Figured semi-pistol grip walnut stock with rubber recoil pad, checkered grip and forearm, and dark horn forearm cap.

Barrel retaining 98% rebrowned finish, attractive twist pattern, signature worn. Slight traces of original casehardened finish to the lock around the hammer, engraving clear, remainder of metal a silver patina. Stock with some handling marks, some deeper bruising, replacement butt pad, checkering well defined. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.
