Casehardened action and locks with doll's head rib extension, side clips, knurled underlever, gold lined cocking indicators, and automatic sliding tang safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" marking. The action and locks have full coverage English scroll and floral blossom engraving with "J. WOODWARD & SONS" maker's marks, relief carved fences, and matching engraved tangs and trigger guard. Wedge fastened, checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip buttstock with engraved fittings, tear drop accents behind the lock tails, raised cheekpiece, and checkered horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally converted and refinished with 90% of the blue finish remaining on the barrels, some areas thinning to reveal the underlying Damascus pattern, and some small scratches and dings. The action has 85% vivid refurbished case colors with some silvering visible on the edges, well defined engraving, and some small dings visible under the blue on the trigger guard. The refinished wood is fine with sharp freshened checkering, attractive figure, visible wood plugs on the underside (likely removed sling swivel and initial plate), and some dings on the buttplate. The left firing pin is broken and can't be opened.
