SANDERSON - ENGLISH SPORTING GUN" with light engraving at the breech end, chambers proved and measured at 2 1/2 inches, automatic ejectors, standard Birmingham proofs on the flats dated 1961, Belgian provisional proof on the tubes, and full/full chokes. Casehardened action and locks with bushed firing pins, Birmingham proofs on the water table, dual triggers (front is articulated), and manual sliding tang safety. The action and locks have Purdey underbolts and hidden third fastener, with full coverage English rose and scroll engraving with matching engraved tangs and trigger guard, and gold inlaid "SAFE" marking. Attractively figured checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with Anson latch, engraved fittings, blank initial oval, and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech proved at .729/.729 and measured at .731/.731; choke constriction .039/.039; minimum wall thickness .025/.035; drop at comb 1 1/4 inches; drop at heel 2 3/16 inches; length of pull 15 inches.

Excellent with 97% plus original slightly plum tinted blue finish remaining, light handling marks, and some minor edge wear at the muzzle. The action and locks have 95% plus original vibrant original case colors with some minor edge wear, and crisp engraving. The wood is also excellent with sharp checkering, some small dings, and dark patina on the initial oval. Mechanically excellent.
