Blue steel dovetail lump barrels with a single bead sight on the smooth concave rib marked "H.J. HUSSEY Ltd. 81 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" with chambers proved and measured at 2 1/2 inches, 1896-1904 London nitro proofs, improved cylinder/improved cylinder chokes, and a gold inlaid "1" at the breech end of the rib indicating the first gun in a 2 gun set. Casehardened action and lock plates with light border and hinge engraving, London viewing proofs on the water table, "H.J. HUSSEY" maker's marks on the locks, matching gold inlaid "1" on the lever, cocking indicators, dual triggers, and automatic sliding tang safety. Checkered forearm and straight grip stock with carved tear drop accents, blank silver initial oval, and solid rubber recoil pad with faux leather face. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech proved at 13/1 (.719) and measured at .733/.731; choke constriction .011/.008; minimum wall thickness .024/.030; drop at comb 1 9/16 inches; drop at heel 2 7/16 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.

Very fine. The barrels have 98% plus professionally restored blue finish remaining, slightly light rib marking and proofs, and just a few light handling marks. The action and locks have 75% period restored case colors with some light pitting visible on the left fence, dove gray patina on the underside, and refinished trigger guard. The wood is fine with moderately worn, freshened checkering, short hairline cracks visible at the tail of each lock, and scattered small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
