According to the chart on page 177 of "L.C. Smith Shotguns" by Brophy, only 33 Specialty Grade guns were manufactured chambered for .410 bore shells. Blue steel dovetail lump barrels with a single bead sight on the flat matte rib with a small silver inlaid bar at the breech end, standard markings on the barrels, light scroll engraving at the breech, flats marked for 3 inch chambers, automatic ejectors, and improved modified/full chokes. The casehardened action and locks feature fine leafy scroll engraving with classic Specialty grade engraved bird scenes of a duck on the right lock, quail on the left, and fancy black letter font "L.C. SMITH" makers marks on each lock. The action is fitted with a Hunter One single non-selective trigger and manual sliding tang safety. Checkered walnut forearm with roller latch, engraved fittings, and nicely figured pistol grip stock with serrated plastic buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 7/8 inches.

Very fine with 97% high polish period refinished blue on the barrels with some faint traces of small dings visible under the blue, slightly softened markings, some light edge wear, and forearm marks on the underside. The action and locks have 50% faded original case colors, crisp engraving, and a dove gray patina with some traces of darker spotting on the balance. The wood is fine with a visible crack to the left of the trigger plate, a small chip on the forend tip junction, sharp checkering, and scattered small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
