The included factory letter confirms the serial number, gauge, barrel length, chokes, sights, engraving, gold inlays, and a completed inspection date of February 17, 1969. This information is further confirmed by the included Cody Firearms Museum records search. The table on page 299 of "Winchester's Finest: The Model 21" by Ned Schwing lists only three gold inlaid Custom Grade Model 21 shotguns in a pattern other than 21-6. Blue Winchester Proof steel dovetailed barrels with a matte, vent rib marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER FOR JENKINS GUNS INC." with Lyman red bead front and white bead mid sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, "WS-1/WS-2" marked chokes, and Winchester "WP" proofs on the flats and water table. Bright polished blue receiver with standard three-line model and address marking on the water table, single gold washed trigger with selector, and manual sliding tang safety. The receiver is engraved with flourishes and wedges of fine scroll with detailed, flush, gold inlays of a pheasant on the right and a pointer on the left. Multi-point checkered American walnut beavertail forearm with engraved fittings, roller latch, and pistol grip stock with a blue steel grip cap, inset "H" inscribed gold initial oval, and checkered bare butt. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. With an oak and leather takedown case with Winchester Model 21 label and a set of gold plated snap caps, gold oil bottle, two-piece wood cleaning rod, and cleaning rod heads.

Near new in case with only a few faint storage marks. Case is excellent with a few small exterior dings. A very scarce and desirable Custom Grade Winchester Model 21.
