Manufactured by Colt in 1945. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line, two-block address/patent marking with the Rampant Colt in the center and "P" on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. The left side of the frame is marked with a "G.H.D." inspectors mark above the magazine catch and "P" below it, with "X/VP" on the left side of the guard, "91" on the right, and the "No" style serial number on the right next to "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". Fitted with the thin checkered spur hammer, thumb safety, and stamped trigger with serrated slide catch and arched mainspring housing. Barrel has been polished on the underside, with no visible makers marks. Blued Colt barrel, marked "P" and "C" in a box on the lug. Grips are later style Colt checkered reinforced plastic, with a full blue magazine marked "L" on the toe.

Excellent, with 95% plus of the original parkerized finish. A bright gray patina is forming on the high edges, along with a few mild scratches concentrated on the right side of the slide. Grips are very fine, with some scattered small pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
