Manufactured in 1943. Standard blade front and flat top notch rear sights, two-line address and patent date markings separated by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide, the United States Property and model markings on the right side of the frame have been intentionally obliterated and the right side of the frame and left side of slide have been marked with an unknown proof. The consignor states the pistol is a French Lend-Lease gun, however, there is no documentation at this time for this. "G.H.D." inspection mark on left side of frame, matching "P" proofs on the slide and frame, "COLT 45 AUTO" marked blue barrel, checkered slide catch, thumb safety, and wide spur hammer, long grip safety, and checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Reinforced Keyes Fibre grips and unmarked full blue magazine.

Very fine as period modified (see above) with 85% plus original parkerized finish remaining, some areas of minor edge wear, scattered surface scratches, and handling marks overall. The grips are excellent with some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
