The included Colt factory letter confirms the model, serial number, caliber, original finish as "blue" (a factory error, as by 1944 Colt was well into the production of parkerized pistols), and November 6, 1944 date of shipment to Springfield Armory as one of 2,000 units shipped. Standard blade and notch sights, two-line/two-block address separated by the Rampant Colt, "G.H.D." inspection mark and Colt "VP" proof on left side of frame, matching "P" proofs on the frame and slide, thin checkered hammer, stamped trigger, checkered slide catch and safety, and arched serrated mainspring housing. Fitted with "COLT 45 AUTO" marked barrel, checkered Colt Rock grips, and full blue "R" marked magazine.

Excellent with 97% plus original parkerized finish remaining, some traces of light edge wear, some small handling marks, and sharp markings. The grips are also excellent with some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
