Description:

Manufactured in Bridgeport, Connecticut by Auto-Ordnance, the 1928AC Thompson SMGs were manufactured on the same lines as the military contract 1928A1 SMG, but were instead pulled out of line to be sold to law enforcement, with the markings altered (most are also found with the "U.S." struck off, but not in this case). In features, the model shows the trend towards simplification, with a smooth barrel, horizontal handguard and a fixed peep rear sight to speed production. Blade front sight on the Cutts/Thompson compensator, with the barrel showing a small "P" stamp at the breech; no other military style proofs are present on the item. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and trigger group, with the "1928AC" model marking on the left side of the frame, Thompson "bullet" logo on top, and the Auto-Ordnance address and eight-line patent markings on the right. Proper slotting is present for drum and stick magazines, with a set of "FULL AUTO"/"SINGLE" selector and "FIRE"/"SAFE" safety levers. A contoured pistol grip is installed, as is a quick detach buttstock with trapdoor buttplate and canvas sling. One drum magazine is included, an Auto-Ordnance "Type L" 50-round drum, and an unmarked canvas drum case.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel and compensator show 98% of a correct original blue finish, with a matte parkerized receiver and trigger housing, showing 98% overall with some mild handling marks. The stock is also excellent, with mild storage dings visible. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
