Designed in the 1960s and officially adopted by the Austrian Bundesheer in 1978 as the StG77. The Steyr AUG (Armee-Universal-Gewehr) has become one of the most easily recognized bullpup machine guns in the world, aside from Austria it has been adopted by multiple military and law enforcement groups throughout the world. The consignor attributes this as the first in the country to reach civilian hands; it was originally destined for a law enforcement purchaser who backed out last minute, giving the consignor a window to acquire it. Standard 16 inch carbine barrel with bird cage flash hider, folding forward grip, hand adjustable gas system, "Gun South Inc." marking on right side of barrel, integral Swarovski 1.5x scope/carry handle with standard black ring reticle, three-dot open sights on top of the scope, two position safety, ambidextrous ejection ports, and rubber butt pad.

Excellent with 95% plus original black finish, some scattered small scratches, and mild handling marks. The polymer chassis has some small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Scope optics are clear with well defined reticle. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. This weapon is currently registered as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL, with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License.
